A walk in the (Olympic Sculpture) park

We awoke Thursday to a beautiful Seattle day and decided to introduce Nico to some art. So we took him to the Olympic Sculpture Park. Many of you know this place has a special place in my heart because I got to work on a “making of” project.
It was a dream of ours to take Nico for a stroll here. It was the first of many!

Going for a drive

It was late on a gloomy Seattle day, but we decided it was not too late to hit the road. The whole family has piled into the 122, the iPod was loaded with new tunes and we were off until the gray sky turns black.
I think it's our first complete family outing. We're heading south, through the city and beyond!
There was an alternate photo that didn't work as a family portrait, but had nice artistic results. Have a look

Welcome home Nico!
After heading to the hospital late Monday night, we returned home Wednesday evening with an additional member of the family. Coby greeted us when we made it home. To get on his good side, Nico presented Coby a little gift – a stuffed monkey.

Grandma Marla took some shots as we began to adjust into our new lives – and prepare for our first night at home with Nico.
The first night went pretty well. There were some late night challenges with breastfeeding, but we managed to sneak in some sleep as Connie and I worked as a team. The second night was even easier – but don’t get me wrong, it’s tiring, hard work.

Chicago vacation (post-UNITY)
After the week-long UNITY journalism conference, Connie, Baby and I were lucky enough to have a week vacation, spent with Connie's side of the family. Here are some of the photos from that great trip! (July 27 through August 3, 2008)

Family portrait (Sarah was at school) taken off Lake Michigan. (Click to enlarge photo)

Baby's second baseball game. The first was at the VIP seats at Seattle's Safeco Field. While these seats may not have been as close, it was awesome to see a game at the historic Wrigley Field. (Click to enlarge photo)

Hernandez family shot, right before heading out to a nice prime rib dinner at Lawry's Restaurant. (Click to enlarge photo)
